George S. Weems
concentrates his practice in commercial real estate, real estate related litigation and general corporate matters. Prior to joining Coman & Anderson, Mr. Weems was Vice-President and Corporate Counsel to CB Richard Ellis, Inc., an international real estate services company. While at CB, Mr. Weems was responsible for representing the company's interests in general real estate and business matters, commercial brokerage, property management, contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, legal training, and litigation. Mr. Weems began his legal career with the law firm Carroll & Sain, where he focused on corporate and commercial real estate transactional work, including acquisitions, dispositions, retail leasing, real estate tax matters and real estate litigation.
Mr. Weems has significant experience in handling commercial real estate transactions and real estate development. Many of the firm's clients have benefited from his ability to add value to a transaction through obtaining development and relocation based incentives, municipal entitlements, state based incentives and real estate tax breaks.
Mr. Weems received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1991 from DePauw University. After graduation he worked for one and one-half years for a real estate tax investment firm before attending law school.
Mr. Weems received his law degree in 1995 and his Masters Degree in Real Estate Law (with honors) in 2004 from The John Marshall Law School. Mr. Weems is admitted to the Illinois Bar and the Federal Bar of the Northern District of Illinois and holds a membership in the Chicago Bar Association. He is also a licensed Illinois real estate continuing education instructor.
Mr. Weems and his family reside in Geneva, Illinois.
